EISA Events

The Association has celebrated its fifth exciting year of growth, and is delighted to announce its ‘century’ – 100 professional members, five-fold growth in five years! We welcome our new members and will continue our work through 2010 with the development of our increasingly comprehensive website and new initiatives to help with fund-raising.

We continue our close liaison with HMRC and Treasury, who are very supportive in their regular attendance at our events.  There are three main events in the EISA calendar: starting the year with the Chairman's Annual Reception; a post-budget briefing early in the new tax year; and a technical seminar to kick off the Autumn, with a focused review of any Finance Bill changes.

Diary Dates

The next date for your diary is the Autumn Technical seminar, which is an evening seminar on Thursday 30th September  2010 starting at 5:00pm with a Reception to follow.  Once again It is kindly hosted by Speechly Bircham LLP.

The Chairman's Reception at the House of Commons will take place on Tuesday 1st February 2011.

A number of smaller events are carried out throughout the year including a forum for Fund Managers to help with fund-raising.  For futher information please contact Member Services on 0208 785 5560 or  members@eisa.org.uk.

Past Events

18th May 2010 - the Annual Spring Seminar was very kindly hosted by Nabarro LLP at their offices.  It was an interesting and well attended event with lively debate over both the broad future of EIS in the context of a new Government and increases to CGT, as well as considerable technical detail.

Our Chairman’s Annual Reception took place at the House of Commons on 28th January 2010. This glittering affair is the showcase for the EIS Association Annual awards for excellence and we were  further entertained by a forthright speech on enterprise capital in the UK from Luke Johnson of Risk Capital Partners, perhaps better known as Chairman and founder of Pizza Express.

The house was indeed packed and we were thrilled to welcome for the first time ever, the full HMRC team of Inspectors. It was great to put faces to names and for them to meet the EIS Association members in person.
