About us

About EIS Association

The EIS Association supports, engages and empowers entrepreneurs, advisers and investors across the UK using the EIS and SEIS.

We are the not-for-profit trade body for the Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) and Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme (SEIS).

These are government initiatives facilitating investment from private individuals to small businesses across the UK.

We are dedicated to supporting the UK’s government, businesses and investors in ensuring the schemes continue to deliver growth to the economy.

Our membership body represents all those who interact with the schemes, including investee businesses, fund managers, lawyers, accountants, financial advisers, wealth managers, insurance providers and more.

You can explore a list of our members via the Member Directory, and if you are interested in joining us you can explore the options here.

EIS Association Committees

The EIS Association is run by a Board of Directors and organises a series of high level Committees comprising a board member and experts in the relevant field.

Tax & Technical

Responsible for consultation on technical issues, in particular regarding the rules of the Scheme and a key participant in discussions on proposed changes or new legislation with HM Treasury and HMRC.

Regulatory & Legal

Responsible for legislative change and FCA/regulatory consultations where changes impact the EIS/SEIS.

Marketing, Membership & Events

Responsible for member events and outreach to attract new members, including seminars in the regions.

Research & Education

Responsible for broadening the understanding of the S/EIS to new audiences and supporting research initiatives to improve insights into the S/EIS ecosystem and the impact of the schemes.

Green Shoots

Our Green Shoots committee organises events and content for our network of young professionals involved in EIS/SEIS.

Women in Finance Charter

When the EIS Association signed up to the Charter in 2018 we had 50% female representation. As of 1st February 2022 we have 100% female representation in senior management. We met our Charter target by our deadline. As a small organisation with three employees, maintaining a minimum of 50% female representation is a priority but also depends on employee requirements.

Any member of staff leaving or joining has a major impact on our representation figures, but staff turnover is low so we are able to maintain a minimum of 50% female representation now and most certainly in the future.
